Newberg Old Fashioned Festival Grand Parade
Day
Saturday, July 30, 2011 found us at the staging area at 6:45 am.
Ron Giebenheim with Bob Youngman in the escort car, arrived
driving his Minnesota Moline tractor pulling the float trailer.
We then moved plants to the edge and set up the tables and
chairs. The bell pads and table covers were put in place
and the bells went on the tables. Lois Walton, Joan
Shipman, Lori Sohn and Janelle Bolt were ringing the handbells
during the parade. Some of the songs they played were
Jesus Loves Me, The B-I-B-L-E, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Ten Little Indians, and On Top of Old Smoky. We were blessed
with 31 people participating by riding or walking. Four
wagons were loaded with crates full of goody bags and we were
off. We saw lots of friends and family along the parade
route. It was a great morning filled with lots of fun.
