Newberg Old Fashioned
Festival Fun
We're in a two parades! For the first time, we entered a float
in the Newberg Old Fashioned Festival Grand Parade and the
children walked in the Children's Parade. The theme of
this years festival was "We've Got a Good Thing Growin'" and our
float was titled "Come Grow With Us." The committee
started planning and collecting supplies and on July 22 we
started work on parts of the float.
First up on the to do list was make the
3D logos for the front fence and the banner for the float.
The committee had chosen to hand out 2000 bags filled with a
flyer, pack of seeds and a toy. That meant lots of
stuffing needed to be done.
Next up was putting flooring, banners, and chairs on the
trailer.
Thursday, July 28, found a bunch of kids and several adults
walking in the Children's Parade and tossing candy.
Finally parade day arrives for
the Grand Parade.
