The Sack Lunch Ministry is mission outreach to homeless in
Portland, OR. On the 4th Sunday every
month, a group of
volunteers gather during the Sunday School hour to make 100 sack
lunches. The lunches include napkin, fruit, dessert, peanut
butter/jelly sandwich, and a bag of chips. Holiday times
always bring special treats to add to the lunches. Bottled
water is also taken to distribute with the sack lunches.
Once the lunches are assembled, boxes are loaded into cars to
distribute in downtown Portland following the 10:30 am Worship
Service. Donations of bottled water, paper lunch bags,
plastic sandwich bags, napkins, bags of chips can be delivered
to the church office. Helpers are always needed to make
and deliver lunches. |
