United Methodist Men Retreat 2012
| During the weekend of January 20-22,
2012, Pastor Bob Flaherty skillfully led our annual
Men's Retreat in a study of "Spiritual Practices in the
World's Religions." Our initial discussion centered
around the many similarities and differences in prayer
from various traditions including: Christian, Muslim,
Baha'i, Buddhist, Hindu, Native American, Jewish, and
Pagan. This discussion was followed by an investigation
and observation of sacred places and pilgrimages
throughout the world. The conclusion of our study gave
insight and opportunity to experience different forms of
meditation utilizing a variety of physical as well as
mental exercises. Our retreat not only have us a
spiritually enriching experience by learning by doing,
but it also gave each of us a time to grow by sharing
with each other. |
