I was born and raised in Amity, Oregon. I have been involved with music since about 9 years old when I began taking piano lessons continuing through college. After graduating from Amity High School I attended George Fox College and Linfield College studying music. I took additional organ studies from Loren Sykes, a renowned organist at the First Methodist Church in Portland. I have been organist at Newberg Friends since 1956 along with part-time stints with Joyful Servant Lutheran and McMinnville Mennonite. I have been full-time at the Presbyterian Church of Laurelhurst (Portland) for 9 years. Music is near and dear to my heart. I feel it is a ministry in which I can contribute. My gift belongs to God to use in whatever way He leads. Karen Scott and I have given many piano/organ concerts and duo-piano concerts. I am currently the accompanist for the Patriarchs Men’s Choir at Friendsview Retirement. John and I have been married for almost 56 years. We have 4 married children, 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. I retired from 26 years at George Fox University and now enjoy gardening and traveling along with music.
